Motivation Monday Week 27

Each day we make important decisions that shape our future and define our perception of the world and ourselves. Our minds are powerful, capable of achieving greatness or achieving hell on earth, depending on the choices we make. It's the beautiful complexity of life that highlights our individual differences. Consider two people doing the same job: one does so with joy, the other does it with misery. Same job, different choices. As we navigate this week, remember, 'Life’s too short is repeated often enough to be a cliche but this time it’s true. You don’t have enough time to be both unhappy and mediocre. It’s not just pointless, it’s painful” by Seth Godin . As a DJ/Producer I used to be extremely hard on myself during the creative process. I used to tell myself so many limiting beliefs that made me feel like shit for example I’d say things in my head like “this beat is going to be trash” , or “the crowd is not going to like your voice so don’t turn on your mic during this event”. Imagine those thoughts playing on a loop all day when you’re making a beat for Tracee Ellis Ross or while you’re DJing a wedding that you’ve already been paid for. Like yikessss, but I can’t be the only one who feels this. Those negative thoughts, like a broken record, playing on repeat.

But here's the thing: you can silence them hoes (by them hoes I mean those crappy thoughts). Replace those doubts with dreams, take time to envision the best possible outcome, and then take action. For me, it meant imagining the crowd looking forward to what I had to say instead of side eyeing me when I turned on that mic. By challenging those limiting beliefs and daring to act, I transformed that event from a solid 6 to a level 10 party. As creators, we face these choices daily. Embrace your power to shape your narrative and uplift others. We are only here for a fleeting moment, so let's make it count. You awesome ass human being I’ll see you next week.
